This Feb 26th. at 2 pm ET, meet the creative minds behind it all
Get ready to meet the extraordinary individuals behind Slow Emotion,
in an inspiring documentary by Toronto filmmaker Jason Cipparrone.
This heartfelt film features Martha Johnson and Mark Gane of the
iconic Toronto band Martha and the Muffins, whose hit "Echo
Beach" defined a generation. Martha, living with
Parkinson's for 23 years, and her husband Mark teamed up with
Fabio Dwyer, a talented guitarist also living with Parkinson's,
to create "Slow Emotion"-a song with a powerful
message of "Empathy, not sympathy."
Guided by their neurologist, Dr. Alfonso Fasano, this project
showcases the resilience of the human spirit, as creativity
flourishes even in the face of challenges. The documentary takes you
inside the songwriting and recording process and concludes with an
unforgettable performance featuring a choir of voices from the
Parkinson's community.
After the screening, you'll have the unique opportunity to join
Martha, Mark, Fabio, honorary "Muffin" Brian, and filmmaker Jason
Cipparrone for an engaging discussion. Hear their stories, ask your
questions, and connect with the inspiring journey that brought this
project to life.
Don't miss the chance to experience the transformative power of
art and community.
