Dear John,

Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ dangerous decision to press ahead with airport expansion – including at Heathrow – is hugely irresponsible given the deepening climate crisis. Which is already wreaking havoc across the world and threatens our children's future.

It contradicts the government’s own climate advisers. And flies in the face of the Prime Minister’s promise to show international leadership on climate change.

But it's far from a done deal. Politicians have been fighting over the future of the airport for years. We think there’s every chance we can still stop it – and other unnecessary airport expansion. So please speak up today.

I'LL SIGN THE PETITION

Airport expansions would also bring worse air pollution and noise disturbance for local people – severely impacting their health and wellbeing.

That’s why so many of Friends of the Earth’s  local action groups have been successfully campaigning to stop developments like Heathrow’s third runway for years.

Now they need your help. So please sign our petition to make sure Rachel Reeves hears loud and clear: no airport expansion and no third runway at Heathrow.

I'LL SIGN THE PETITION

With many experts and colleagues within her own party disagreeing with the Chancellor’s view that airport expansion will drive economic growth, is the risk to our children’s future really one worth taking?

Thanks for all your support,

Jenny Bates
