In case you were wondering if extremism is attacking work around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at all levels, the answer is yes.

 

As covered by the Minnesota Star Tribune yesterday, the school board in Lakeville, MN will discuss whether inclusive posters around its schools should come down. 

 

What are the offensive messages on the posters? Salacious concepts like Black Lives Matter and We Are Stronger Together.

 

For many students, school is their largest and most important community. It's where they report every day, circulate among their peers, and open their minds to new ideas. Now, school boards like Lakeville's are considering making our schools less welcoming and less inclusive. 

 

School board elections are already kicking off for 2025 and more will continue to crop up throughout the year. We're hard at work but we can't do it without you.  

 

It is absolutely essential that School Board Integrity Project can continue its work to recruit, train, and support school board candidates who will stand up for our students, stand up for educational integrity, and stand up for schools that are safe and welcoming.
