Confirming Russell Vought would give Trump’s Project 2025 the power to devastate American families and undermine our democratic institutions.
His agenda would dismantle funding for programs that keep housing and transportation affordable, jeopardize investments in repairing roads and bridges, and strip away tools we need to combat the climate crisis.
Vought has openly stated he wants to put career civil servants "in trauma," firing those who stand in the way of his extremist goals and replacing them with political loyalists. He doesn’t believe in democratic norms, and he’s unafraid to wield his position to defy Congress, as evidenced by his illegal actions in the past. If confirmed, this nominee will work hand-in-glove with Trump to dismantle the bipartisan progress we’ve fought so hard to achieve.
The Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act represent some of the most critical investments in modern American history -- reducing emissions, creating jobs, and supporting communities across the country. But with Vought at the helm of OMB, these landmark achievements could be undone in favor of Trump’s dangerous Project 2025 agenda.
