Construction begins in 2025, with roads and utilities phased for completion, supporting a 6-8-year residential build timeline.

Brooten, MN Intergovernmental Review - EPA Community Grant FY23

*Notice description: *Congress has identified Brooten's Water Service Expansion project and an associated funding level of $2.5M in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. This project will replace the water distribution system, including service connections from the new mains to existing buildings, hydrants, one new municipal well, and one new well house. Additionally, the project includes two new lift stations and demolition of one existing lift station. Drinking water service pipes will be installed from the mains to buildings by directional drilling. Street and turf will be restored to the same character and materials as the existing condition. Brooten's infrastructure improvements include both above ground and underground work. The project will occur within existing roadways or in previously disturbed areas (both horizontal and vertical extents).

Dairyland Wabasha - Notice of Public Hearings and Availability of Environmental Assessment

*Notice description: *PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission), Minnesota Department of Commerce, and Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) will hold public hearings and be issuing the environmental assessment on Dairyland Power Cooperative's Wabasha Relocation 161 kV Transmission Line Project. The proposed project would relocate approximately 10.4 miles of Dairyland's existing 161-kV LQ34 line, which presently connects to the Wabaco Substation to the Alma Substation and is collocated on the existing CapX2020 345-kV transmission line structures. Dairyland anticipates initiating site preparation activities for the Kellogg Substation site between June and July 2026, followed by substation construction and 161-kV transmission line installation between June 2027 and July 2028.

Final Environmental Impact Statement Availability: Minnesota Energy Connection Project

*Notice description: *The Minnesota Department of Commerce has issued the final environmental impact statement (FEIS) for the Minnesota Energy Connection project. The FEIS is a written document that describes the human and environmental impacts of the proposed project and selected route alternatives, and methods to mitigate potential impacts. Minnesota Duty Officer reports pertaining to fish kills are summarized in the following table, in accordance with 103G.216, REPORTING FISH KILLS IN PUBLIC WATERS, Subd. 2 Reporting Requirement. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers. For more information regarding fish kills in Minnesota see the Department of Natural Resources [ [link removed] ]. Call the Minnesota Duty Officer at 651‐649‐5451 or 800‐422‐0798 to report fish kills.
