According to multiple reliable sources, Gaza’s population before the war was estimated to be around 2.3 million but now Trump says that there are only 1.5 million people there. We know that around 45,000 people were killed and around 100,000 were able to flee to safety during the war, but what does that mean for the other 655,000 people?
Did Trump simply say the wrong number, or is it possible that he has access to information we don’t and knows the truth about the death toll in Gaza? If these 655,000 people are truly unaccounted for, that would bring the genocide’s death toll up to a whopping 700,000 human lives.
What makes Trump’s statement even more concerning is that none of the people we expect to be standing up for human rights have condemned it. The House Progressive Caucus, supposedly the most left-leaning faction of Congress, hasn’t made a single public statement.
That’s not surprising given that 55 of their members have taken money directly from AIPAC, a far-right and pro-genocide super PAC.
Our mission is to hold these “progressives” accountable and to demand that they use their power to stand against Trump’s plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza. But we can’t do it without your support. Can you donate $15 to help us pressure the “progressives” in Congress to demand an end to ethnic cleansing?
