Dear Friend,

America’s doors have already been shut to admitting new refugees. But the government has now taken an unprecedented step.

Any government-funded programs have been immediately halted. That means vital programs that help welcome refugee families or support asylum seekers who have already arrived in the United States are in jeopardy.

Having been promised a better tomorrow after fleeing war and persecution, refugee families—half of who are children—are now arriving to uncertainty. It’s un-American. And it’s inhumane.

Families and children could immediately lose vital services. Some have waited 10-15 years to be resettled and rebuild their lives in the United States. Despite these dramatic policy changes, USCRI will continue to provide timely and urgent support to newly arrived families. But we can’t do it without you. ([link removed])

With your help, we can provide temporary housing, winter clothing, emergency food and medical assistance, enroll kids in school, and help families become self-sufficient.

Time is of the essence.

We will continue to serve the most vulnerable. And we thank you for your urgent and generous support during this crisis. ([link removed])

With my heartfelt thanks,

Eskinder Negash
President and CEO
