John,
As America grapples with economic struggles, climate disasters, and fear
in marginalized communities, the Trump administration is pushing more
divisive legislation.
The Laken Riley Act is the latest example: a bill that would allow
immigrants to be detained and deported based on mere accusations, denying
them due process and the right to a fair trial.
This bill is not about protecting Americans; it’s about empowering
power-hungry elites at the expense of vulnerable communities. We need our
Squad in Congress fighting to protect our communities — not tear them
apart.
[ [link removed] ]Will you chip in today to power their fight against the Trump
administration’s harmful agenda?
The Laken Riley Act is a blatant attack on the values of justice and
fairness we hold dear. And not one member of our Squad voted for it.
Meanwhile, the bill’s supporters have a lot to gain.
This bill is a clear handout to private prison companies, like GEO Group,
the largest private prison corporation in the nation. These companies
profit massively from mass incarceration, and they're looking to expand
their reach — at the expense of immigrant communities.
This is what corruption looks like,
John. The next four years are
going to be challenging, but we can’t afford to let Trump and his allies
push policies that bulldoze our communities and undermine our democracy.
We must uplift bold leaders who are defending our values and challenging
this unjust status quo.

Trump’s draconian and divisive leadership?
