As Gen Z shifts right, we’re doing the work to bring our peers back. Here’s how:

John,
January 20 was a rough day for a huge percentage of Americans, not just because Donald Trump was sworn in as president but because we’ve been hearing for months that he and his extremist agenda made inroads with young people like us.
While it’s true that Trump did gain ground with Gen Z and Millennials in 2024, it’s even clearer that young Americans like us are fighting back against his dangerous anti-youth agenda. Trump’s win in November was excruciating and his presidency will be a clear setback to progress, but we aren’t giving up.
Actually, we’re fighting back. My name is Sam Weinberg, I’m a Gen Zer, and I’m writing to you as the Executive Director of a 501(c)4 nonprofit called Path to Progress, an organization that meets young people where they are to convey left-of-center policy priorities and engage young folks in the political process!
Case in point: just one Instagram post from our account reached almost 10 MILLION young people on Inauguration Day. We’re showing Gen Z and Millennials the threat Trump poses — and that we need to vote!

Lots of politicians and celebrities try too hard to “go viral” online. In reality, the key is just to be straightforward and authentic — and that’s exactly what we at Path to Progress do. That's why we’ve generated more than 230,000 followers on Instagram alone, not to mention X/Twitter, Threads, Facebook, and Bluesky.
We’re re-engaging Americans under 40 in order to defeat the far-right once and for all — and I’m personally asking you to be in this fight with us. It won’t be easy but if we can reach 10 million people in just the first day of Trump’s second presidency, there’s no telling what we can do over the next four years!

We’re only 5 days into what will be a 1,461 day presidency but we know that with widespread support, we can resist and advocate for ourselves this whole time.
Thank you for your support,
Sam Weinberg Executive Director Path to Progress
