Friends and Comrades-

This week, we're focusing on critical areas already under assault by the Trump administration. We also have legislative updates and upcoming chapter elections. Let's get to it:

?Immigrant and Worker's Day of Action!

Join the Santa Fe Dreamer's Project, New Mexico Immigrant Law Center, and other allied organizations next Monday, 2/3, at 9am for Immigrant and Worker's Day of Action at the State Capitol! We are all in this together when it comes to countering the threat of ICE and attacks on workers and we can take action this legislative session!?

?This week at the Legislature

On Tuesday starting at 9am, the Senate Conservation Committee will be hearing four important bills relating to environmental justice: SB 4, SB 21, SB 22, and SB 23. You can read more about these bills at New Energy Economy's Legislative Priorities page.?

?

If you are able, please attend this committee meeting, to advocate for these bills as written, except SB 22, which has an amendment that needs to pass to get rid of a loophole. You can also attend the meeting over Zoom or can write to committee members to support these bills using this form.

Trans Rights Resources and Updates

Trans and nonbinary folks in our communities are facing continued threats to their existence under this administration. Please read this urgent update from the Trans Resistance Network to learn about the latest assault.?

Chapter Elections

Are you looking to beef up your organizing skills and support out chapter's continuing efforts for Santa Fe's working class? Then please consider running in our upcoming chapter elections! These elections will take place at our February General Meeting and we need good, committed people to run!

?

If you are a member in good standing, you can nominate yourself or another member of the chapter to run by emailing our Nomination Committee at [email protected].?

Support Burrito Brigade!?

Our friends at Burrito Brigade Mutual Aid have been doing amazing work feeding free breakfast to dozens every Sunday morning, along with distributing sleeping bags and other cold-weather essentials to the unhoused.?

?

If you'd like to get involved you can contact Burrito Brigade at [email protected]. If you would like to pitch in with resources, you can donate to our mutual aid fund.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
