Consumer confidence rises in May

The Conference Board's consumer confidence index unexpectedly rose to 86.6 this month from 85.7 in April. "Short-term expectations moderately increased as the gradual reopening of the economy helped improve consumers' spirits," said Lynn Franco of The Conference Board.

Reopening restaurants and bars

QSR Magazine lays out comprehensive considerations for restaurants and bars that are beginning the reopening process. From staff training to physical barriers and modified layouts, the considerations are intended to create the “suitable work” environment required to get up and running again.
