Team,
Monday marked the beginning of a dark week in America.
On Monday, Trump was inaugurated for his second term with a bleak speech. Yesterday and today, he signed 26 executive orders including ending birthright citizenship, rescinding a Biden EO that lowered the price of prescriptions, pardoning the vast majority of January 6th rioters, and suspending refugee resettlement programs.
I’ll be honest: over the next four years, there will be a lot of pain, hurt, and fear at the federal level – and that means we just need to work harder at the local level.
Candidates for school board, village board, and county board are often the last line of defense for enforcement of these orders in their communities.
There’s a lot at stake for these next four years, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to protect our immigrant and refugee neighbors, fight for the LGBTQ community, and ensure that our children get equal access to quality education.
If you’re with us, we have local candidates in our state preparing for April municipal elections, and they need your help. Would you make a contribution right now to fight back against Trump at the local level? [[link removed]]
