Partners,

As Families USA brings together hundreds of advocates from across the country for its 30th annual Health Action Conference, we are sending a clear message to the new Congress and Administration — Americans made economic and financial security a top priority in the election, and it’s time to you to deliver.

Today, Families USA is releasing a new health care affordability agenda, Making Health Care Affordable: Reining in Health Industry Abuses to Lower People's Costs and Generate Budget Savings, that outlines several well-vetted, commonsense bipartisan reforms that take aim directly at our health care affordability crisis to provide immediate relief for families.

If the President and Congress are serious about taking on health care costs, there is a real bi-partisan agenda that will improve health care affordability and save hundreds of billions of dollars in savings for a nation that spends more than $3 trillion every year on healthcare.

The policy recommendations are broken down into the following four categories:

  • Promote meaningful transparency and accountability;
  • Reduce waste and inefficiencies driven by corporate health systems;
  • Root out conflicts of interest that increase health care costs;
  • Provide direct relief to working families and patients.

For more information, you can read the full agenda here.

Thank you, and please let us know if you have any questions.
