Today is Memorial Day -- a day to remember the servicemembers we’ve lost and their courage and dedication to protecting the country we all love. It’s also a reminder of the debt we owe to these men and women who risked everything to ensure we can all enjoy the freedoms we hold dear.

While this Memorial Day looks a little different than it has in the past -- I didn't attend any memorial services like I normally would, and our district's annual Viva Vienna celebration has been postponed -- the spirit of the day remains as we remember those who have given everything for this country.

While we cannot gather in person to celebrate their memory and salute their sacrifice this year, to the fallen and their family members, from the bottom of our hearts: We thank you.
