We’re restarting our 2020 election campaign today. Will you donate now and help us re-elect Jacinda and the Labour team? Click here to donate. <[link removed]>

Hi John,

A lot has happened since I was last in touch with you about Labour’s campaign strategy.

During Alert Levels Four and Three we made the decision to suspend all of Labour’s campaigning. Instead, we put our energy into helping communities through COVID-19.

Around New Zealand, our awesome Labour volunteers got on the phones to check-in on the welfare of people in their local communities. The team made over 81,000 check-in calls and helped put people who needed support in touch with community and social services. It was our way of putting Labour’s values into action during lockdown.

Now, thanks to the efforts of millions of New Zealanders, all staying home and breaking the chain of transmission, our country is getting through the health crisis and we’re set up for a strong economic recovery.

It’s more important than ever that we re-elect Jacinda and our Labour team, so they can keep rolling out an economic plan that is saving Kiwi jobs and helping to create new ones. Will you help us secure a second term for Labour today?

CHIP IN HERE <[link removed]>From today, we are restarting our election campaign. In these unprecedented times, we’re going to face new challenges as a team, but our campaign strategy remains the same.

We’re still going to keep running a positive campaign, we’re still going to keep building our grassroots movement and we’re still going to campaign our hearts out to re-elect Jacinda Ardern and our Labour team.

And, with National’s leadership change on Friday, building and growing Labour’s campaign is now more important than ever. Back in 2017, we all saw how much momentum the right leader can give an election campaign and there’s a chance this leadership change could be a moment for National to rally their supporters and leverage funds from their backers.

Right now, you can make a real difference to the strength of our campaign. John, can you help us be ready to respond to the months ahead by chipping in directly to our 2020 Campaign Fund today? <[link removed]>

CHIP IN HERE <[link removed]>Everything our Party does relies on funds generously contributed by thousands of supporters like you. Whether it be a $4, $20 or $100 donation, every single contribution counts. Obviously, the more you’re able to give the more we can do - but even if you can only donate a few dollars, it all adds up and helps us to build our incredible people-powered campaign.

That’s what we need to win in September.

Your support today will make such a difference to our campaign. <[link removed]>

More updates to follow.
Thanks so much,

A short note on donations:
John, over the last two months we’ve made sure our focus has been on helping communities through COVID-19. It wasn’t a time for political campaigning, but concentrating on the welfare of our friends, our whānau and those who were vulnerable in our communities.
I know we all agree that this was the right decision. But pausing our campaign programmes meant we also put all of our fundraising activity on hold too. So today we’re asking for the help of members and supporters to get us back on track.
We recognise many people are concerned about the financial impact of COVID-19, or other pressures. To you we say - Labour will keep working as hard as we can in government to represent you and support your needs.
If however, you can, are you able to make a contribution to our campaign today? Whatever you can afford — even if it’s only a few dollars — will truly make a difference and help us prepare a winning election campaign. Thank you.
