We must protect our state's natural beauty.

We recognize that this is a very difficult time for all in our country. Hiral's first priority right now is everyone's health, safety, and well-being. We ask you to only consider making a donation if you can afford to do so. The work of our campaign continues, albeit remotely, and we remain committed to the longterm mission of fighting for Arizona families. Hi John,

All of us who call Arizona home know and love its people and its natural environment. Our Grand Canyon State is the new American melting pot -- whether you moved here last year or your families have lived on this land for centuries, we as Arizonans have forged a new identity together.

So we have to stand together when part of our state comes under threat. That's why I’m asking you to sign your name today to help us save Oak Flat.

Picture of Oak Flat

Oak Flat is around two hours east of Phoenix: a vision of rolling hills and flowing waters, an Eden of the Southwest. It is also an incredibly sacred piece of land to our indigenous communities and a piece of our state that has undergone a heart-wrenching tug of war for years.

Though Oak Flat is and has always been indigenous land, even now falling within the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, its control does not rest fully in the hands of those who have viewed it as sacred for centuries. Instead, it resides with Washington bureaucrats at the Department of Agriculture.

And those who continue to put profits over people, what do they want to do with Oak Flat? They want to sell it off and turn it into a copper mine, blatantly disrespecting the sacred heritage of Arizona’s indigenous community. This would also harm the local economy, as rock climbing and bouldering at Oak Flat generate more revenue for the community than company mine projects ever will.

We need to act today and show that the people of Arizona reject the efforts to exploit these sacred lands. And there's a bipartisan bill, the Save Oak Flat Act, under consideration in Congress right now with one simple purpose: prevent the Department of Agriculture from turning Oak Flat into a private mining operation.

I want to get 7,500 citizen co-signers in support of the Save Oak Flat Act. Can you add your name today?

Together, we have a chance of saving Oak Flat, but apart, there’s nothing to stop corporate interests from strip mining the length and breadth of our state. This land is sacred -- and it’s time Washington started to respect that.

Thank you,
