Each and every one of us has to be founders of the nation yet to be birthed.

During PolicyLink’s first staff meeting of the year, I reflected on the fact that 2025 will be a year of growing for us. The commitment we’ve made to ensuring that our governing institutions deliver for all will stretch us to do our very best work.

Delivering our best work requires that we operationalize our commitment to all — and a nation that works for everyone — in every aspect of what we do: from each of our policy areas to how we inspire others with our words.

At the same time, our souls are wrestling with the pain and suffering being felt across this nation. And in holding the weight of both, we are convinced that our work to manifest souls that can love all, so that we can govern for all, is the right work. For PolicyLink, this means choosing not to take a rivalrous stance, but instead inviting folks into our vision of collective flourishing. We are certain that we must reach into each other’s despair and provide the hope necessary to redesign the nation.

As you move through the busy-ness of a new year, we ask that you consider joining us in this commitment to a nation of collective flourishing, which will be both the most challenging and impactful work of our generation.

We know this work is not easy. So we want to share a video that has been giving us hope and energy, featuring wisdom from brilliant leaders that joined us at our 2024 Equity Summit. This includes Baratunde Thurston, Ibram X. Kendi, Isabel Wilkerson, Jeff Bradach, Linda Sarsour, and Manuel Pastor, alongside leaders from our organization.
