“If the Republican Party in Texas doesn’t start looking like Texas, there won’t be a Republican Party in Texas.” --retiring Republican Rep. Will Hurd “If Texas turns back to a Democratic state, which it used to be, then we’ll never elect another Republican [president] in my lifetime.” --Republican Senator John Cornyn “Texans aren’t buying what [Republicans] are selling.” --Republican incumbent and my opponent, Chip Roy The GOP heard us, and they’re scared. They know that their chances of clinging to the majority in our state are slim to none and they’re shaking in their boots. As a “battleground” state, 2020 races in Texas are more competitive than they’ve been in our lifetime. Already three Congressmen have decided not to run for re-election, and the Republicans are dropping like flies. If Chip Roy won’t follow suit, then help me take his job. The people have spoken. They’re sick of a party that doesn’t represent the needs and values of everyday Texans, sick of a party that doesn’t look like us, and sick of a party that has taken our votes for granted for too long. Republicans in Texas have done way too much talking and not enough listening. It’s time for a change, for leaders to actually pay attention to the people that they represent. I don’t ever want to see another tragedy like El Paso on the soil of our great state and witness this weak response from our Republican representatives. Texas deserves better. You deserve better. Stand with me to replace the ineffective Republican leadership in Texas and keep our momentum growing stronger every day.
