Virtual concert for Texas hospitality workers

A local community organization in San Antonio, Texas, is putting on a virtual concert series for hospitality industry workers impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown. In addition to entertaining the community, the concert is also raising money to help those in need. Silver Eagle Distributors has pledged to match every dollar raised by the community from the concert series, up to $10,000.

Michigan distributor donating $100,000 to COVID-19 relief efforts

Local beer distributor Henry A. Fox Sales in Michigan is donating $100,000 to nearly 20 charities and nonprofits across the state that are helping those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Brien Fox, president of Henry A. Fox Sales said, “We’re proud to do our part to help during this crisis and help ensure these groups have the resources they need to support Michigan’s most vulnerable residents.”

New Malort recipe: add expired beer

Of the 10 million gallons of beer stranded due to shutdown orders, Lester Jones chief economist at the National Beer Wholesalers Association said the vast majority would never reach beer drinkers before expiring. Keg beer expiring is a serious problem for breweries and distributors alike. However, Illinois' Revolution Brewing found a creative solution for their old draft beer -- they are turning it into Malort, a Chicago cult liqueur.
