2025 poses special challenges for VoteRiders: We know a wave of new and stricter voter ID laws will likely be passed at the state level across the country — and possibly nationally.

Every new ID law means we need to reach out to many thousands of voters about the changes and help those who don’t have an accepted form of ID to secure one. We always cover the costs associated with getting an ID, because we don’t think money should ever be a barrier to voting.

Those costs add up and that’s why we challenged the VoteRiders community to raise $50,000 in December. You really came through!

Thanks to our generous community of supporters we reached our goal and raised more than $137,000 to meet the growing demand for our free ID services in 2025.

We believe that every single voter has the right to cast a ballot that counts, and that the costs of obtaining an ID or underlying documents should never keep someone away from the voting booth.

We also know that IDs change lives above and beyond voting — helping people to secure housing and employment, access medical care, travel, and so much more.

If you weren’t able to donate before our year-end deadline but still want to support our critical work, it’s never too late! Every dollar you give will help us meet the demand for our free ID services in 2025.
