More evidence, less poverty

Dear John,

As we close out 2024, I am incredibly proud of the work we have done this year to improve the lives of people living in poverty.

Since our founding in 2002, IPA has rigorously evaluated more than 1,000 projects across 60 countries. We have partnered with over 1,200 researchers to understand what works to end global poverty. We’ve put this evidence directly into the hands of decision-makers, helping them create and implement the most effective policies to improve the lives of the over 700 million people living in extreme poverty.

We unveiled several new initiatives to fight global poverty using rigorous evidence, including groundbreaking partnerships with the US

and UK

government international aid funding agencies, where we aim to scale up solutions that work. We launched our Climate & Environment program

to tackle one of today's most pressing challenges.

We also strengthened our efforts to equip decision-makers to use data and evidence more effectively, including expanding our Embedded Evidence Labs Program

to 24 labs across 16 countries to support sustainable evidence use at the national level. These are just a few examples of the many exciting milestones IPA has achieved in the past year.
