Tryon Distributing in North Carolina teamed up with OneBlood to host a blood drive at their location while also following safe physical distancing and cleanliness guidelines. Ed Johnston of Tryon Distributing said, “Partnering with OneBlood was especially rewarding because it means the blood we donated will go directly to helping people in our local community, and giving back to the community which has done so much for us over the last 35 years is really amazing.”

Walmart and shifting consumer habits

During the first quarter and throughout the pandemic, Walmart's e-commerce sales were up 74%. Though there was a decrease in shopping trips to physical stores due to stay-at-home orders, there was a shift to online purchases. Walmart also found that consumers were consolidating shopping trips which resulted in 5.6% fewer transactions. However, the amount spent per shopping trip increased by 16.5%.
