Dear friend of IDP,

Sanctuary laws are under attack, but together, we can protect these vital policies and the communities they safeguard. The Immigrant Defense Project (IDP)  is working overtime in New York to pass a state sanctuary bill, New York for All, and improve New York City’s laws before the inauguration. In the face of resistance, we’re creating a space for advocates across the country to come together and share strategies. Right now, your support for this work can make an extraordinary impact in the fight for fairness and safety for all.

Here are three ways you can take action today:

1. Help Us Build Our Defense Capacity before the Inauguration

We need your help to ensure we have the resources needed to fund critical advocacy, legal support, and public education to protect sanctuary laws.

2. Become a Monthly Donor

Sustained support enables us to plan long-term strategies and respond quickly to urgent threats against sanctuary policies. Even $10 a month makes a difference.

3. Take Legislative Action

If you’re in New York, contact your state representative and urge them to support the New York for All Act to make our state a true sanctuary. Wherever you live, follow IDP on social media for updates and calls to action.

Your support fuels victories like these:

  • Passing strong sanctuary laws in New York City.

  • Exposing violations by city agencies and holding them accountable.

  • Advocating for state-level protections like the New York for All Act.

These wins wouldn’t be possible without people like you standing alongside us.

Sanctuary laws are not just policies—they’re lifelines. They protect immigrants and create safer, more just communities for everyone.

Thank you for being part of this movement. Let’s continue the fight together.

In solidarity,
Marie Mark, Executive Director
