Now that the House has introduced the HEROES Act in the latest coronavirus relief package and the Essential Worker Bill of Rights coalition has delivered over one million signatures from community members to the Senate, it’s time for the Senate to act quickly to protect working people and families as the pandemic throws us further into health and economic crisis. Essential workers cannot afford to wait any longer.

The impacts of this COVID-19 crisis on low-wage frontline workers and Black, Brown, Asian-American, AAPI, Indigenous, and migrant communities run deep. All stimulus worker protections must be inclusive of all working people, no matter their immigration or contractor status. These are our community and family members, and they all should be treated with respect. We need Congress to provide relief for the duration of the crisis and recovery for all workers and communities.
