Breaking: Senate committee votes to subpoena a Democratic PR firm as part of the Hunter Biden probe. "A Senate committee voted on Wednesday to authorize a subpoena as part of a Republican-led investigation targeting former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter." (POLITICO) As POLITICO first reported, the subpoena authorization covers documents and a deposition with the PR firm's CEO.
The firm had done consulting work for Burisma, the Ukrainian company that was in America's national headlines earlier this year during the impeachment proceedings against President Trump. And Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son, was on Burisma's board.
This is a new, developing story ... but it suggests there's a LOT more to come on this issue ahead of the 2020 election.
President Trump calls out Michigan's absentee ballot plan: "done illegally and without authorization." "In a social media post Wednesday, President Trump threatened to withhold federal funding to Michigan for what he described as a 'rogue Secretary of State' 'illegally' sending absentee ballots to 7.7 million people — a claim prompted by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s announcement of a plan to send absentee ballot applications to qualified Michigan voters." (Daily Wire) The biggest debate of the 2020 election may be the expansion of voting by mail ... and President Trump took a decisive stand AGAINST voter fraud in the process this morning.
The left is pushing increased voting by mail, so their attacks against President Trump are already starting to roll in.
President Trump jump-starts America's economy with big reforms to cut red tape and scale back unnecessary regulations. "An executive order signed by President Trump Tuesday directs agencies to consider what sort of deregulatory action they might take that could spur economic growth. The order directs agency heads to 'identify regulatory standards that may inhibit economic recovery,' highlighting that regulations could be permanently or temporarily lifted." (The Hill) Every level of government has scaled back or eliminated regulations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from changing tax deadlines to new procedures for restaurants and alcohol sales.
Now President Trump wants to jump-start America's economy -- and economic recovery! -- by making regulatory reform that will "spur economic growth" permanent.
That's great news for job creators, small business owners, and American workers and families in these challenging times.
More than 40 Columbia University Law professors signed an open letter against now-Justice Kavanaugh. But they'll welcome Joe Biden -- facing a sexual assault allegation -- as their graduation speaker. "Now, as Joe Biden prepares to deliver a virtual commencement address at Columbia Law School on Wednesday, he also stands accused of sexual assault (which he, too, adamantly denies) along with previously reported incidents of inappropriate touching. The once-vocal advocates for women's rights and the 'Me Too' movement at New York City's only Ivy League law school, though, have a starkly different view toward Biden." (Fox News) The left was happy to destroy the presumption of innocence, due process, and a "character defense" when they wanted to derail now-Justice Kavanaugh's nomination.
Now they're left with cynical hypocrisy as they defend Joe Biden against a sexual assault allegation -- which Biden has denied.
The latest update is from Columbia Law, whose professors and students spoke out against Justice Kavanaugh ... and now welcome Biden as their virtual graduation speaker.
It's part of a pattern from the left, as high-profile endorsements keep coming in for Biden ... as supporters of the the #MeToo movement try a "transparent attempt to rewrite history" (via Reason) ... and as the "transparent double standard" on the left becomes clear (National Review).
