In case you missed it, the last time that Donald Trump was elected, our Executive Director, Jean Bruggeman, discussed how the Administration caused harm to survivors.
Trump will be back in office, and we need to make sure that survivors are not harmed.
There are government-funded programs nationwide that are hurting the very survivors they intend to serve. When a human trafficking survivor can't meet the requirements to get into a shelter, they are significantly more likely to end up re-trafficked. Providers should not require survivors to turn over their cell phones and prescription medication, take mandatory drug tests, or attend religious programming. Life-saving services should not be conditional.
The Freedom Network Training Institute (FNTI) provides training and resources on voluntary, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered housing practices for survivors of human trafficking. FNTI trains programs to remove the barriers and rules that are blocking survivors from accessing emergency, transitional, and long-term housing.
We need YOUR help to keep our efforts going. People like you understand that every survivor counts.
Please help protect survivors.
