Newly elected congressmen commit to prolife bill
Dear John,
Congressmen Mike Garcia (R-CA) and Tom Tiffany (R-WI) recently won special elections for the House of Representatives. After being sworn in this morning, they both committed to vote and defend the sanctity of life.
Both men signed a discharge petition, a procedural move used in Congress to force a bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote. The bill is called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act([link removed]). If enough signatures are gathered on the petition, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will be forced to allow the House to vote on the pro-life bill. It would then go to the Senate. The bill would “prohibit a health-care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.”
The discharge petition requires 218 signers before it can advance to the House floor for a vote. The petition([link removed]) now has 205 signatures with no Democratic support. How can any member of Congress refuse to support legislation to rescue babies who survive a failed attempt to take their lives?

I urge you to pray that God would impress upon those who are hard-hearted and who despise God’s command, “Thou shall not murder” (Exod. 20:13). Ask God to soften the hearts our nation’s leaders so they would hear the cry of the children.
We live in a morally bankrupt land where many believe evil to be good, and good to be evil (Isaiah 5:20). Pray that God would bring an awakening to America so that other nations would say of it:
“‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him? Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today?” (Deut. 4:6-8)
While it is true that 13 Democrats in Congress as well as procedural rules such as the Senate filibuster make it humanly impossible to pass pro-life legislation, God is bigger than these obstacles. The Bible tells us that God will do mighty things among us only if we humble ourselves and seek Him (2 Chron. 7:14).
"Of course, Schumer's attacks were ‘inappropriate’ and ‘wrong!’ He should be CENSURED," Hawley tweeted Friday, in response to a video of CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who stated Schumer's remarks sounded "like a physical threat."
Co-sponsored by 14 senators, Hawley’s resolution claims Schumer’s comments were "an attempt to unduly influence the judicial decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States… ."
We agree with Hawley. And we agree that Schumer should be censured for his dangerous and inappropriate comments.
TAKE ACTION
([link removed])Urge your senators to vote in favor of censuring Schumer([link removed]) for his threats against members of the U.S. Supreme Court.
We have prepared an email message for you send to your two senators today!
