Indivisibles,
As 2024 winds down, we’re looking ahead to the new year and well…things
are looking a little bleak. We don’t want to dampen the holiday spirit by
listing every element of Project 2025, but we know what we’ll be up
against in January. And while we’re facing a tough fight, we want you to
find some hope in knowing that we’re doing everything we can -- right now
   -- to prepare for it.
Some of this work is already in motion -- we've published an updated
Indivisible Guide, we're driving calls to Congress, and we're pushing
Democratic governors and legislatures to Trump-proof their states. Other
parts are still in the planning phase, with campaigns being reviewed and
approved right now (we’ll share them as soon as we can).
To make it all happen -- and to ensure we enter the new year ready to take
the fight to MAGA -- we've set a goal to raise $400,000 by the end of the
month. This is one of our most ambitious goals to date and we hope you'll
read on to see why it's so important that we fundraise now. [ [link removed] ]But if

                              Why December matters
There are a few reasons why we’re fundraising now instead of waiting for
   the new year:
    1. We're seeing a surge of volunteer energy. More than 50,000 people
joined our call launching our new Indivisible Guide with Senator
Warren. Over 10,000 people have told us they want to join or start a
local Indivisible group. We’re moving as fast as we can to get folks
connected to local groups and help new ones get set up with support
from our organizers and training staff. All of this energy is exciting
but it takes resources and staff time to nurture it so we can carry it
       forward into 2025.
    2. Democrats have a limited window to build guardrails. President Biden
and Democrats in Congress still have power right now, and we expect
them to use it to protect our rights and democracy. That means
publishing the Equal Rights Amendment, confirming pro-democracy
judges, and stopping Republicans from jamming poison pills into
must-pass year-end legislation. At the state level, we’re urging
Democratic governors and legislatures to call special sessions and
begin Trump-proofing their states by creating sanctuary policies and
       establishing legal defense funds.
    3. Once Republicans take power, they will hit the ground running.
Republicans take full control of Congress on Jan 3. Trump will be
sworn in on Jan 20. Thanks to Project 2025, they will come to power
with a plan of attack ready to go. We will work to defeat and delay
what we can and begin building a backlash to MAGA’s most unpopular
policies. But how we respond will be shaped by the resources we have
       on hand.
None of this work is possible without the support of grassroots donors. We
believe our goal for this month will help us finish the work immediately
before us and put us in the best position to fight back against a new
Trump administration on Day 1. [ [link removed] ]If you’re ready to stand with us, you

                        Some real talk about fundraising
We will never be able to defeat MAGA if we only show up during elections.
But the hard truth is, for orgs like Indivisible that are focused on
organizing year-round, fundraising and budgeting are especially
   challenging in between elections.
It’s a hard pill to swallow because the grassroots organizing that happens
after November is just as important -- actually, even more important now.
It’s how we will defeat MAGA policies and legislation. It’s how we get our
Democratic electeds from Congress on down to local school board members to
fight back against the MAGA agenda. It’s how we protect our election
infrastructure and show up in solidarity with vulnerable groups.
Grassroots organizing needs grassroots dollars to fund trainings, grants
for local groups, organizers and policy experts, call and email tools, ads
and digital recruitment -- everything that it takes to keep a
pro-democracy movement running and growing. And with everything that’s
headed our way, we can’t afford for our fundraising to slow down now.
