Fmr Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry leads in DeKalb Commission fundraising and cash on hand in the final weeks before the June 9th Democratic Primary

DeKalb County, GA - On Friday, May 15th, former Clarkston Mayor Edward "Ted" Terry outraised both of his opponents combined in the 2nd quarter campaign finance disclosures. With more than $58,000 total raised and $27,000 cash on hand, the Terry campaign will head into the final weeks before the June 9th election with a five times cash advantage in the Super 6 race.

"I am so proud and grateful for all the support our campaign to move DeKalb forward has received," Fmr. Clarkston Mayor, Ted Terry said. "More than a thousand individuals have donated, signed up to volunteer, submitted community endorsements, and helped spread the word about our vision for a cleaner, green, more prosperous county. We are proud and overwhelmed by the extraordinary response from ordinary residents who want new energy on the County Commission."

In addition to a substantial cash advantage, Mayor Terry has also amassed a slate of endorsements from organizations, public officials, and local community leaders. The growing list of Terry's campaign backers includes Fmr Governor Roy Barnes, Congressman Hank Johnson, Fmr State Senator Jason Carter, DeKalb Commissioner Larry Johnson, Mayor of Doraville Joseph Geierman, the Georgia Sierra Club, People for the American Way, VoteProChoice, and the District 77 IUPAT, the regional painters union, based in DeKalb County, as well as endorsements from more than 30 local community and neighborhood residents.

"The confidence these leaders, organizations, and neighbors have expressed in their endorsement and financial support shows the diverse, inclusive, and broad coalition that our campaign represents," the former Clarkston mayor said. "Together we will bring new energy, new ideas to move DeKalb forward."

Early voting in person starts on Monday, May 18th. Mayor Terry will hold an all DeKalb Town Hall on Tuesday, May 19th at 6 pm, with special guests. Election Day is Tuesday, June 9th. - [link removed]
