For months, there have been signs that Mitch McConnell’s Senate majority is in deep, deep trouble.

Republicans are trailing candidates who champion reproductive freedom in key Senate races in Maine, Arizona, and Colorado.¹ And in the first quarter of this year, pro-choice candidates in “must-watch” races showed strong fundraising energy, with some even outraising their Republican opponents.²

But we’re suddenly facing a significant challenge due to the coronavirus pandemic. To keep our momentum — and accommodate our new reality — we need to revamp our 2020 campaign plan to center digital organizing practices.

This will be a huge undertaking. We need to raise $50,000 to transition our 2020 election plans to focus on digital organizing. Can we count you in, John?

$15 pays for postage to mail resources to our volunteers so they can organize from home
$50 allows our organizers to text 1,000 people and empower them to be reproductive freedom voters
$100 helps our organizers utilize tools like Zoom, a video conferencing platform, to interact with volunteers virtually

Our biggest concern right now is the health and safety of the people around the country threatened by COVID‑19 — which is why we’re shifting resources to online organizing. But let’s face it: One of the reasons the response to the virus was so slow and ineffective is because of the incompetent, anti-science rhetoric coming from the president and his enablers in the Senate.

We’ve already seen how anti-choice politicians are willing to exploit the pandemic to advance their ideological agenda, even inserting language into COVID‑19 response bills to try to restrict abortion access.³ Their attacks have not let up, which means our organizing can’t slow down.
