John, the choice we face in November is clear.
The current crisis is throwing our economy into recession and will starve our state, cities, counties and schools of the resources they need to provide vital local services and prevent layoffs.
With the threat of deep budget cuts, California cannot afford to keep giving massive tax breaks to some of the wealthiest corporations. Keeping these corporate loopholes comes at the expense of investing in the things we all value: schools, first responders, health care and clean water.
Schools & Communities First is an initiative that will require large corporations to pay their fair share, reclaiming $12 billion every year for schools, cities and counties while protecting small businesses, homeowners and renters. I am supporting this critical initiative so that we rebuild California stronger than before!
I need you with me in this fight. We are up against some of the richest special interests in the country -- including one of Donald Trump’s top donors!
Now more than ever, we need to support our schools, essential workers, vital services and local communities. We can’t afford the corporate tax loopholes that are draining our communities of the resources they need to survive.
I’m ready to fight for California’s future -- I know you are, too!
Thanks for your support,
Ro Khanna

The Schools & Communities First initiative reclaims $12 billion every year for California’s schools and local communities by closing commercial property tax loopholes benefiting a fraction of corporations and wealthy investors. The initiative benefits residents and small businesses by exempting homeowners and renters from any changes while implementing new tax relief for small businesses.
