Last week Tryon Distributing in North Carolina teamed up with their suppliers and US Foods to donate “Quarantine Relief Bags” to service industry workers who were affected by the pandemic. Roughly 200 restaurant workers lined up in their cars outside the warehouse to pick up a goodie bag in a drive-thru, hands-free transaction. This is one of the many ways Tryon Distributing is stepping up for their community including, delivering groceries to pantries.
Mr. Rogers said, “Look for the helpers,” and in Pennsylvania, those helpers are being rewarded with beer. A few days ago, a couple saved twelve ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Soon, Pennsylvania based-beer company Yuengling caught wind of their actions and rewarded the rescue effort with 15 free cases of beer.
Technically, Uber Eats does not allow alcohol to be sold on its app, but that hasn’t stopped restaurants from offering to-go cocktails on their menus. Uber Eats’ policy means they do not have an in-app system for checking IDs. An investigation by California’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control concluded that “third-party delivery services are routinely delivering alcoholic beverages to minors.”
