Tara Reade’s allegation against Joe Biden deserves a full and thorough investigation. Just like Dr. Christine Blasey Ford deserves a real investigation for her allegations against Justice Brett Kavanaugh, as do the 25 women who have accused President Trump of sexual assault.

Susan Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court and she voted to acquit Donald Trump. She has been given countless opportunities to do the right thing and to lead with integrity, but she chooses party ties over truth every chance she gets. Such blind allegiance to party over objective investigation is unfair to all her constituents, particularly to survivors of sexual assault

That’s why I’m calling for a full investigation into the accusation against Joe Biden by a credible non-partisan third party. This is not an issue we can politicize.

Women deserve to be heard. All sexual assault allegations deserve to be investigated. [[link removed]]

Serious accusations of sexual assault should not become fodder for political agendas. Although the #MeToo movement has worked to hold offenders accountable and has supported so many survivors, politicians like Susan Collins have worked to silence victims and support perpetrators. When I’m in the Senate, I’ll champion women’s rights and make sure accusations like Tara Reade’s are prioritized and thoroughly investigated. I will ensure that the voices of survivors are amplified, not muted – even when it might be politically inconvenient.
