John,
It’s time to get organizing.
With Kavanaugh and an anti-choice majority on the Supreme Court, Roe hangs in the balance and our reproductive rights will largely be determined at the state level. That’s exactly why anti-choice politicians are waging an all-out assault on reproductive freedom in states from Alabama and Louisiana to Missouri and Ohio.
This week, anti-choice lawmakers in the Tennessee state senate reconvened a committee to debate an unconstitutional total ban on abortion. Their goal is to make it to the Supreme Court and overturn Roe v. Wade.1
Regardless of where we live, our futures are intertwined, and we have a plan to fight back and safeguard our rights.
If we’re going to stop these attacks and pass new protections, we must mobilize early with a passion beyond anything we’ve seen from anti-choice extremists.
NARAL members are taking up that mantel with Reality of Roe Action Hours to educate and mobilize their family, friends, and communities at events around the country. During these Action Hours, volunteers just like you will bring family, friends, and people in your community together to learn about abortion access in District of Columbia and around the country — including threats and opportunities — and to take immediate action and plan for what’s next together.
For your Reality of Roe Action Hour, we’ll provide you with an informative presentation you can share by video or present yourself, a fact sheet about laws in your state, a discussion guide, opportunities to stay involved, and other tools to ensure your event is a success.

Hosting an action hour is a great opportunity to bring together the people you love to support reproductive freedom!
We have to send a message to state lawmakers that their constituents expect them to fight for our reproductive freedom next year and beyond. Hosting or joining an Action Hour is the first step. Are you in?
Nervous about hosting? Never led an organizing event before? That’s okay! Our toolkit has all the information you’ll need to guide you through the set-up process, agenda, actions you can take with your family and friends on the day of your event, and information on next steps.
The assaults against reproductive freedom can seem overwhelming. But organizing reminds us that we’re not alone in this fight — that our communities are more powerful and more resilient than we realize.
Lead the resistance and amplify the voices of the seven in 10 Americans who support reproductive freedom. Sign up to host an Action Hour now!
Thanks for all you do,
Sarah Jane Higginbotham Senior Campaigns Adviser, NARAL Pro-Choice America
