BREAKING:

1 in 4 Americans work for a federal contractor. The Trump-Pence administration is proposing to drop protections for LGBTQ employees.

Gutting equality is un-American. Please join us in this fight.

Dear Friend,

The attacks from the Trump-Pence administration just keep coming.

Their latest proposed regulation out of the Department of Labor attempts to gut protections for LGBTQ people, women and religious minorities by adding unprecedented religious exemptions to a long standing executive order prohibiting discrimination against the employees of federal contractors that includes protections added by President Obama for sexual orientation and gender identity.

Trump made headlines in his first month in office with a high profile promise to keep this order “intact.” But now, he’s gone back on his word to the American people and put workers at risk for discrimination nationwide.

We need to tell Trump that gutting equality is un-American. Join HRC right now in calling on him and his administration to withdraw this harmful proposed regulation.

Make no mistake here: This proposed regulation is a broad and sweeping effort to implement a license to discriminate against people on the basis of their gender identity and sexual orientation.

More specifically, this would affect the one in four Americans who currently work for federal contractors. If this regulation becomes permanent, these employees could see key enforcement of protections eviscerated in an instant. We’ll see our tax dollars at work, being used to discriminate.

That is unacceptable. And we cannot be silent.

We were a part of the fight for these key protections at the time the executive order was issued … and we’re here now to do all we can to defend them. Please join us in this fight.
