Another case of local businesses working together to help the community: when veteran-owned Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery needed expired beer to distill into hand sanitizer they reached out to Bob Archer, president of Blue Ridge Beverage Co. for assistance. Mr. Archer was able to connect them with Tri-Cities Beverage Co. which supplied more than 1,000 kegs of expired beer from their warehouse.
Uber has made an offer to buy food delivery company Grubhub. However, both sides have yet to agree on a deal, and CNBC’s David Faber reported Tuesday that Uber has rejected the proposal to buy Grubhub for 2.15 Uber shares per share of Grubhub. The two sides have been in acquisition talks off and on for about a year, Faber reported, but remain at odds on price.
