When a classmate is diagnosed with cancer, children and their teachers need tools to help. We're excited to announce that in partnership with Hopecam, we've written a children's book: My Brave Friend: Emma and Noah Face Cancer Together! Based on our Livestrong at School curriculum, this heartfelt book aims to change the way students in kindergarten through second grade learn about cancer.

Noah and Emma are best friends who do everything together. But one day at school, Noah notices that Emma is not there. Confused, Noah learns that Emma has cancer. He is sad and learns to process his many feelings and emotions. With the help of his teachers and classmates, Noah makes Emma feel less lonely while she receives treatment at the hospital.

Are you a young cancer survivor ready to start a family? In addition to the Livestrong Fertility program, we are proud to partner with nonprofit Worth the Wait. Their mission is to empower young adult cancer survivors on their path to parenthood. They provide emergency fertility preservation and family building grants to adolescent and young cancer patients and survivors ages 13-39 in the U.S.

Worth the Wait’s family building grants ease the financial burden for survivors who are ready to start a family through assisted reproductive technology, gestational surrogacy, and adoption. Their next family building grant cycle runs from Oct. 1- December 31, 2024. Learn more and view eligibility criteria here.

LIVESTRONG CHALLENGE

CANCERFIT PERSONAL TRAINING

Are you passionate about fitness and making a difference? Do you have a great personal trainer who wants to give back? We continue to seek fitness instructors for our CancerFit personal training program! Trainers will receive certification in whole-body exercises designed to enhance cancer survivors’ cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility.
