In their efforts to force Americans to live in accordance with their religious and political beliefs, Christian nationalist leaders have endorsed a project to impose a de facto religious test on justices appointed to the Supreme Court. Religious-right leaders are demanding that future Republican presidents and senators consider only potential Supreme Court justices who meet the American Family Association’s “biblical worldview” standard.
People For the American Way Foundation’s Defend the Black Vote campaign and African American Religious Affairs program have produced a new toolkit that empowers clergy to steward the urgency of the getting out the vote in 2024 and future election cycles. Communities of faith remain crucial to community-building and organizing to help encourage voter turnout during the election season.
