Did you know that 10 million environmental voters failed to vote in the 2016 election? Our April monthly speaker from the Environmental Voter Project explained how mobilizing environmental voters increases the political will for environmental issues.
Before listening to this speaker, I didn't understand that I was part of the problem he was talking about. When people tell you that voting is important, they don't just mean every four years for president. They mean midterms. Primaries (like this one). Even voting for the school board.
If too few environmental voters turn out to vote, then politicians won't spend their political capital on climate and environmental issues. Vote. Because voters decide elections, not non-voters.
3. The deadline for DC voter registration by mail is TODAY. The easiest way to complete the entire absentee ballot request process is by using the Vote 4 DC app on mobile device and signing the application on your device screen.
4. Tell your neighbors and coworkers to do the same.
5. Vote! in the June 2nd DC primary election.
In the middle of this pandemic, please remember that we are human beings and community citizens first, climate activists second. We all have a responsibility to keep each other safe. Please follow CDC and DC official guidelines to minimize physical contact that puts election workers and citizens who cannot vote by mail at risk.

Do you feel like climate messaging to conservative audiences has fallen flat? We’re bringing in CCL’s Conservative Fellow, Jacob Abel, for this special webinar on values and talking points that are key to bringing along those who lean right in the pursuit of climate solutions. Working on both sides of the aisle is one of CCL's Core Values — to build the political will for climate solutions we cannot leave half of the country out of the picture. Join us for this training workshop tonight:
Conservative Messaging Workshop
Join Citizens' Climate Lobby DC for a Conservative Messaging Workshopled by Jacob Abel, a CCL Conservative Fellow, to discuss the most effective strategies for reaching out to conservatives on climate change.
