Dear John,

Your VOTE is needed to help our democracy function properly, and we want to make voting easy for you.

If you’re new to voting, haven’t voted in a while, or have moved to a new state, it's important to learn how voting works locally. Ask a trusted friend or family member, check your local library, or visit the official voting websites in this email. Remember: Voting rules vary by state, so be sure to understand the rules where you live.

Below are a number of valuable online resources where you can find information to make sure that you are registered to vote (Step 1), have a plan to vote (Step 2), and that your vote will be counted (Step 3).

Get set: Are you ready to vote?

STEP 1 - MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE!

You can check your current voter registration status at vote.org or vote411.org. There is no time to waste, so we urge you to check your status ASAP!

If you are not registered to vote, you can and should register to vote immediately using the instructions at one of the following websites:

  • Voter Registration Rules - Vote.org
  • Voter Registration Deadlines - Vote.org
  • Your state’s voting website (generally the Secretary of State’s website).

REMEMBER:

  • You must be registered before you can vote
  • Voter registration deadlines vary by state
  • Voter registration deadlines are right now or very soon, so verify today that you are registered to vote!

Has your voter registration been removed?
Some states have removed voter registrations, which requires that a person re-register. By checking your voter registration status right now per the instructions above, you can  ensure that your vote will be counted.

Important Tip: When signing your voter registration or an absentee/mail-in ballot, make sure to sign your name exactly as it appears on your driver’s license, passport, or other official ID. If the signatures don’t match, your ballot might not be counted!

Please forward this email to three contacts in your network. Thanks for everything you do!
