In the October issue of Health Affairs, Olivier Wouters and Jouni Kuha analyzed the timing of new drug launches in seventy-five markets from 1982 to 2024.

 

Join Health Affairs Deputy Editor Jessica Bylander with Wouters during a virtual Journal Club event to discuss the paper and its implications.

 

The authors analyzed a study sample that captured the majority of essential medicines that first came into medical use anywhere globally from 1982 onward, comprising 119 medicines with more than 6,800 observed launches.
