John,

I'm proud to announce my next major endorsement this week from the Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club!

I got started as a political organizer here in Georgia more than 14 years ago, all the way back in 2006 as a door to door canvasser for the Sierra Club. I spent months pounding the pavement, knocking thousands of doors, and collecting signatures for the nascent Beltline idea.

I even got arrested -- just for canvassing in a wealthier neighborhood! Of course, they dropped the charges and we went right back to that same neighborhood the next day and kept walking and knocking. The environmental issues we were fighting for were and are still too important to let the threat of an arrest deter us.

Over the years I continued to be involved as a Sierra Club rank and file member here in DeKalb. Eventually, I had the honor to apply and then was hired as the Executive Director of the Georgia Chapter from 2016 to 2019.

I'm proud of the work we did to pressure the Public Service Commission and Georgia Power to expand solar energy investments. We also worked with the MORE MARTA coalition to pass the Atlanta MARTA expansion referendum and built a movement of cities here and across Georgia to begin community transitions to a 100% Clean Energy and Transportation future.

I've spent the last decade in a fight to address climate change, reverse global warming, and ensure environmental justice is at the core of the clean energy movement.

As the next Super 6 Commissioner, I will bring the coalitions and relationships I've built with grassroots organizers and community activists to support DeKalb, and together, we will create a county that is a model for climate action and environmental justice.

Together, we can expand transit, invest in solar energy and energy efficiency, advance environmental protection, and get more of our neighbors outdoors!

The Sierra Club has a motto - Explore, Enjoy, Protect.

As a DeKalb County Commissioner, I will lead with this example in mind. Together, we will create a county that is cleaner, greener, and more prosperous.

Vote for the environment on or before June 9th. Vote for Ted Terry for DeKalb Super 6 Commissioner.

Thank you!

- Ted
P.S. We don't need to wait for Congress to pass a Green New Deal - we can take action here at the local level to fight the climate crisis. Sign on to support my DeKalb Green New Deal policy proposal. My plan is the only comprehensive policy that will position DeKalb County as a national leader on how to take action to reverse global warming and clean up our air and water.
