Refusing to listen to science, directing contracts to friends and lobbyists, putting politics before the safety of Americans, this new whistleblower complaint has opened the lid on the Trump administration’s corruption during this global pandemic.

Dr. Rick Bright, a top Health and Human Services official, was pushed out of his position by political appointees because he refused to fund dangerous drugs promoted by people close to the President. This is just another example of the gross incompetence and failure of leadership from the White House and President Trump’s Administration that has resulted in thousands of preventable deaths.

Politics should never -- NEVER -- be put ahead of science. Our focus should be the health and safety of Americans, not poll numbers, not deflecting blame to others, and certainly not enriching lobbyists.

I admire the strength and courage of Dr. Bright and his dedication to his compatriots’ health and safety. It is people like him that give us all hope that we will come out of this crisis stronger.

I’m appalled by this most recent whistleblower complaint. We’re facing the gravest threat to our country in a lifetime, and we’re being led by a corrupt, incompetent fool.
