John,
Earlier this week, Kamala Harris sat down for an interview with CBS's 60 Minutes . Before the broadcast aired, 60 Minutes shared a clip from the interview online. When the television version aired, the exchange between Harris and Bill Whitaker appeared edited, with Harris offering a more concise response.
There's nothing unusual here— 60 Minutes routinely edits interviews for time and clarity.
To Donald Trump, however, the interview was another Democratic conspiracy. Take a look:

We'll show you how the legacy media helped Trump take down Kamala Harris by amplifying his lies in a moment. But first, if you support COURIER's mission to expose media bias and deliver factual coverage of the 2024 election, can you chip in $17 today? [[link removed]]
Donald Trump has consistently used the legacy media's obsession with so-called "both sides" coverage and the quest for "balance" in election reporting. He knows that this approach falls apart in the face of his relentless lying.
There are no "both sides" to a falsehood. Yet, when the legacy media covers Trump, they often end up amplifying his conspiracies by giving his rants the "just asking questions" treatment to maintain the illusion of balanced reporting and protect their profits and ratings.
Here’s what we mean:

Trump isn’t trying to have a thoughtful debate about the long-standing practice of editing interviews before airing, as these outlets are doing.
Instead, he's accusing CBS of conspiring with Democrats to defeat him. He even called for CBS to lose its broadcast license and canceled his interview with 60 Minutes out of fear they might fact-check him.
This is the danger of legacy media coverage that positions Trump as if he were a conventional candidate. They amplify his conspiracies and end up doing his dirty work.
In this case, the legacy media is pushing the right-wing talking point that Kamala Harris—Vice President, former Senator, and California Attorney General—is somehow unqualified to run for president and needs the media to cover up for her through deceptive editing and far-fetched conspiracies.
This kind of toxic media bias is exactly why COURIER exists. We protect democracy from fascism, hate, and right-wing conspiracies by covering Trump honestly. These aren’t normal times, and we can’t continue offering the same toothless media coverage out of fear of losing profits or coming under attack from the far-right.
If you're ready to support honest journalism that refuses to amplify Trump’s lies, please consider donating $25 or more to support COURIER today. [[link removed]]
