To nobody’s surprise, Wall Street has found a way to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the first Paycheck Protection Program was passed, Wall Street banks gave millions to their wealthiest clients while just a fraction of their small business clients received loans. JP Morgan's 8,500 commercial and private banking clients who applied for a loan got one while less than 6% of their 300,000+ small business customers received loans. As more money is given to big banks, we need Congress to pay attention to how they are distributing our taxpayer dollars.

Tell Washington: Wall Street needs a watchdog when they’re given taxpayer money! [[link removed]]

In Maine, 84% of small businesses have not received a cent from the PPP program that Susan Collins pushed for. When Senate Democrats tried to put more protections in place for small businesses, Susan Collins took to the Senate floor to shame them for not rushing the bill through. She knew big banks would have their way with our taxpayer dollars while small businesses in Maine would continue to suffer.

[link removed] [[link removed]] Women- and minority-owned small business owners are being especially neglected by big banks. CBS News reported that an estimated 90% of minority- and women-owned small businesses have been shut out of receiving PPP loans. This discrimination by Washington and Wall Street is unacceptable.

Washington needs to have a watchdog over these big banks to make sure the PPP loans are distributed FAIRLY to small businesses.

Susan Collins gave Wall Street taxpayer dollars with no oversight. Now, small businesses in Maine are suffering the consequences. I’m running against Susan Collins because Wall Street has enough advocates in Washington. I will be an advocate for Maine’s small businesses.

In solidarity,
