Email from Kansas Republican Party October 9th, 2024   KSGOP Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 9, 2024 CORRECTION: A previous release from the KSGOP incorrectly attributed comments by Phillip Lowcock to David Guth. However, both of these individuals have worked for the University of Kansas, and both their comments are vile. TOPEKA, KS – Kansas Republican Party Chairman Mike Brown issued the following statement regarding video of a University of Kansas employee, Phillip Lowcock, calling for men who do not vote for Kamala Harris to be “lined up and shot.” “This video is beyond disturbing and is exactly what’s wrong with education in America. Radical professors like Phillip Lowcock―especially in a taxpayer-funded university―teaching vile and toxic hate to impressionable adults. If it’s happening here, it’s happening elsewhere across our country. Every legislature should examine their funding of programs that allow extremism like this to persist, and every parent should seek institutions aligned with their core values,” said Kansas Republican Party Chairman Mike Brown. “This deranged individual shows no remorse for his statements―only regret that it was recorded on camera. It should send a shiver down everyone’s spine if KU allows Phillip Lowcock to return to instructing students,” Brown added. In the video, Phillip Lowcock can be heard requesting that part of the video be “scratched from the recording” because he “didn’t want the Dean hearing.” The University of Kansas sent out a vague statement about a pending investigation and placing the individual on administrative leave, however, this is not the first time the institution has taken similar action following an employee’s outrageous and vile comments. In 2013, a different professor, David Guth was placed on administrative leave after he commented on Twitter that the sons and daughters of gun-rights activists should be shot and ended his tirade with “may God Damn you.” Full Video Transcript: Phillip Lowcock: …guys are smarter than girls, you got some serious problems. Uh. That’s what frustrates me there are going to be some males in our society that will refuse to vote for a potential female president because they don’t think females are smart enough to be president. We could line all those guys up and shoot ‘em. They clearly don’t understand the way the world works. Did I say that? Uh…[unintelligible]…scratch that from the recording. I don’t want the Deans hearing that I said that. ###       You may unsubscribe from this email list at any time by unsubscribing below. Kansas Republican Party | P.O.
