Let me break it down for you:
Fighting for Every Dollar: Running a clean, grassroots campaign is no easy
feat — especially when Black women candidates like me are only raising a
third of what our white counterparts bring in. That’s right. We’re not
just facing opposition from the other side; we’re running uphill while
carrying the weight of systemic inequities that make it that much harder
to compete. But even when the odds are stacked, we show up because serving
our communities is non-negotiable.
Against the Odds: Remember our primary? Those Republicans who fought tooth
and nail against everything we stand for? They’re always gearing up
against us, and ready to write a check to take us down. Last time, they
threw everything at us, but guess what? We didn’t flinch, and we won’t
start now. We might not have deep pockets, but we have deep roots in our
communities, and we’re running a campaign that’s accountable to the people
— not special interests!
Movement Builders: Every door we knock, every voter we talk to, and every
ballot we help turn in represents our power — and it’s all driven by folks
