** PLC National Conference in CORK - REGISTER TODAY

The Pro Life Campaign National Conference 2024 is just two weeks away in Cork City, with a focus on increasing pro-life representation in the Oireachtas and reducing Ireland's rising abortion rate.
We have a fantastic line up of guest speakers this year, including Leader of Independent Ireland Michael Collins TD; Councillor Sarah Beasley, the newly elected Aontú representative on Limerick City Council; Ruth O’Sullivan from West Cork who will talk about her experience of abortion; Dr Margaret Naughton, University Hospital Kerry, who will address the latest push for euthanasia in Ireland.

** PLC submission to Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland challenges “respect” for abortion in draft code
------------------------------------------------------------
Earlier this week, the Pro Life Campaign made a submission to The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) calling on them to acknowledge in their new Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics the “two-patient” model of care in pregnancy (for mother and baby) and the principles which underpin it. The submission also calls on the NMBI to explicitly enshrine in the code proper freedom of conscience protections for nurses and midwives from having to assist or facilitate in abortions taking place.

** Canadian campaigner Alex Schadenberg currently in Ireland to highlight issues with Euthanasia
------------------------------------------------------------
Alex Schadenberg, executive director and chairman of the Canada-based Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, is currently in Ireland to highlight issues surrounding euthanasia and assisted dying. On 17 October, the Dáil is scheduled to discuss the majority report produced by the Joint Committee on Assisted Dying which recommended allowing a form of euthanasia and assisted dying.
