Dear John,

I love Maine. Both my parents were born in Maine and built a summer cottage here. I attended Bowdoin College. I now return to Maine as often as possible. When asked to speak at the Evening for the Environment this year, I didn't hesitate.

It is a pleasure to participate in an event that promotes the good work of Maine Conservation Voters/Alliance protecting the beautiful natural environment and—close to my heart—acting on climate for the next generations.

I invite you to join me in person at the Evening for the Environment to learn more about the truly inspiring youth who I had the honor to represent in a successful challenge to the Montana government's support of the fossil fuels industry which has contributed to climate change.

The Held vs. Montana youth plaintiffs are studying at college and unable to travel to Maine for the event, but the fabulous Grace Gibson-Snyder will bring her story to life in a Friday Lunch and Learn just days before the Evening for the Environment. I encourage you to tune into that for another important perspective on the landmark climate case.

I am delighted to share the stage at the Evening for the Environment with Mihku Paul, a Wolostoqey visual artist and writer, who will perform Msi-te Ktahkomiq Kintaqot, The Whole Earth Resounds. She will lift up Etuapmumk or "two-eyed seeing," a guiding principle for cross-cultural collaboration.

Please join us!

I look forward to sharing this exciting evening with you!
