Dear
John,
The coronavirus pandemic is the perfect storm of conditions causing pain and suffering at a scale many of us haven't seen before. The nonprofit community has been rising to meet this head on while simultaneously grappling with the financial crisis and reduced revenue.
That's why the Giving Tuesday organization created Giving Tuesday Now.
Taking place all day today, Giving Tuesday Now is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by coronavirus.
If you are looking to support frontline organizations on this global day of giving, click here for our staff's recommendations for organizations providing direct services and relief to some of the hardest hit communities right now.

I also want to share an important update on the National Partnership's commitment to keeping our staff safe and well throughout this crisis, some of whom are now dealing with furloughed or recently unemployed partners and family members.
I'm pleased to share that our board just approved our annual budget which ensures full and steady employment for all 41 staff members.
Many organizations have no choice right now but to cut back their staff and operations. The National Partnership is also facing a significant resources gap. We're hearing from donors who are having to pull back their support until the worst of the economic crises has passed. And we're unable to do any of our planned fundraising-related travel and events. At the same time, our work has become more challenging and urgently needed than ever before!
So even as I encourage you to support the organizations providing frontline services, I am asking you to view this Giving Tuesday as a time to be more expansive than ever in your charitable support for the organizations you believe in.
We need you to give generously to the National Partnership so that we can ensure that the government continues to prioritize the essential workers and frontline caregivers all of us depend on.
Our work to make paid sick days and paid leave available to up to 87 million workers through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act was a historic and meaningful step toward that end. But millions more workers still need our help.
John, we need you more than ever to help us do the work that supports the women and families who are most in need during this pandemic. Because the alternative is just unthinkable.

Thank you,
Debra Ness
